1840S REVERSIBLE HAND SEWN PETTICOAT FOR DRESS W HAND QUILTING. FULLY SEWN BY HAND AND HAND QUILTED THROUGHOUT. ONE SIDE IS IN A BROWN COTTON WITH WHITE POLKA DOTS THROUGHOUT WITH THE OTHER SIDE IN A FIGURED FLORAL NAVY SILK TAFFETA.

PRINT COTTON TRIMS THE TOP WAISTBAND WITH MATCHING TIES AND THE BOTTOM HEM IS BOUND IN WOOL. CONDITION : THE POLKA DOT SIDE IS DEFINITELY THE BETTER, IT DOES HAVE THREE ONE INCH FRAYED HOLES, AS PICTUREDNEAT PATCH MENDING COULD RESOLVE. THE BLUE TAFFETA SIDE HAS SOME FADING THAT IS MORE PRONOUNCED IN THE PICTURES THAN IT IS IN REAL LIFE, BUT IT IS SEEN WITH SEVERAL FINGERTIP HOLES TO THE SILK TAFFETA.
