Up for sale is this beautiful antique 1839 bound volume of The Lady's Book. The book is overall in good+ condition with some minor signs of wear and age.It contains three Harriet Beecher Stowe first printings: Trials of a Housekeeper, Olympiana, and Art and Nature. The book is illustrated with 9 lovely hand colored fashion plates, 1 color pattern plate, and a few other black and white engravings. One of the black and white engraved plates is missing, though all other illustrations which are called for are present. The covers only have some light scuffing and wear with a little bit of edge wear. A couple of leaves have a tear a few inches in length and a very few other pages have some other smaller chips or tears. The interior is lightly toned from age with some occasional scattered light foxing, soiling, and grubbiness. Along with that there may be the very occasional page with some kind of other minor imperfection such as a creased page corner, minor stain or marking, etc. Generally though, it's a nice copy. The book measures approximately 10 3/8 inches by 6 3/8 inches. It contains the issues for the entire year. Please look at all of the photos to further note the condition.
