Antique FAN VICTORIAN FRENCH CARVED Mother of Pearl SILK Hand PAINTED 1800's

Antique VICTORIAN French CARVED Pearl Silk SEQUIN Hand PAINTED Gilt FAN. This is an Amazing Antique Victorian French Silk Fan that is Hand Painted with a detailed Beautiful scene with a Lady and Musical instruments with hand painted gold gilt and sequin that has been hand sewn on to the silk (you can see the thread on the back). It is made of carved pearl and comes with the original box. I believe this fan could be a museum piece.

The Artist signed the fan and you can see it in the 5th picture. Doing some research, I found that this artist is listed in a book "Fans" by Alexander F. Tcherviakov" and this Artist was from France and there is a fan by this artist titled "The Young Girl and the Doves in a Museum estate, Ostankino, Moscow, Russia and that fan was circa 1880, so this one should be around the same time period. Measures aprox 8 1/2" long and spread out it is 16" across at the bottom. It has a couple of tiny holes/breaks in the silk, from age and being opened and closed, it has some water spots on the corner of the top of the fan (see pics), the back has a very thin mesh that is so old that it is starting to flake off. Other than that, for it's age, it is Great condition, no major issues.

It really should be framed to keep preserved. I Love to go to Auctions, Estate Sales and Garage Sales. I find Oddities, Unique and Collectible items. I do this to find use for these Vintage, Old, used items and to make someone Happy and bring back fond memories of long ago.

To be absolutely sure they are safe, you should replace them. Also if you are planning on doing any Hard wiring, it is advisable that you get a qualified electrician or person that is skilled in wiring to do the job. Please remember I take the photos the best I can and describe the color of the item as best I can but All Computer Monitors vary when it comes to Viewing the color of items, also the lighting sometimes in the photos, and everyone sees color a little bit differently, so I cannot guarantee the color you see on your monitor will be Exactly the same as what it will be when you get it in your hands.
