Antique Victorian Screw-Locking Figa Hand Swivel Dog Clip Clasp
Antique Victorian Screw-Locking Figa Hand Swivel Dog Clip Clasp. This gorgeous Victorian finding was probably once found at the end of a long, long guard chain. Remnant are at the base of the clasp; a competent jeweler could affix it to your own chain. From the cuff to the end of the clasp is 1 3/8" long, and it is 7/16" at its widest. It screws tightly shut to lock whatever you attach to it watch, locket, pendent, charm? , it swivels freely, and the hinge where the hand is hold the "bar" is sound. This is a gorgeous piece with a couple of dings on one side of the clasp (at first I thought they were makers marks) that do not affect function or aesthetics. The hinge at the top (or bottom) of the clasp is also sturdy and sound. The piece weighs 4.39 grams and it is in gold fill.
