VICTORIAN ENGLISH LEADED STAINED GLASS WINDOW "Mozart" Hand Painted 35.5" x 10". This Beautiful Stained Glass window is from an old Victorian building & dates from the mid to late 1800's It is signed "Swaine Bourne Bham" (Birmingham). Payne was a member of the Birmingham Group whose most notable work was at the chapel for Madresfield Court, possible inspiration for Waugh's "Brideshead Revisited".
The designs of Swaine & Bourne reflect the Arts and Crafts movement as exemplified in Madresfield Court. Swaine Bourne & Son operated from offices in Birmingham and Tottenham Court Road in London.
The measurements are 33.5" x 12.5" Glass size & 22" x 16" Overall including the frame. The colors in this window are shades of Blue, Green, Red Bullseyes and hand painted details.Most of the glass is heavily obscure. The glass is in perfect condition with no cracks or breaks.
