19th C. FRENCH MOTHER of PEARL HAND FAN withGilded Silver Inlaid
Antique Fan, FAcher, Eventail, Ventaglio, Abanico Legyezo, Leque, Ogi, Uchiwa. Lovely French 19th Century HAND FAN, MOP Sticks with Gilded Silver Inlaid and pierced work. This Ladies fan has 19 Mother of Pearl sticks with an amazing iridescent of rainbow colors in light, with fantastic pierced work. All the MOP sticks and the guards are elaborate carvings, pierced and inlaid gilded silver application (piquè work) and they are connected with a petite mother of pearl stone in one side. The sticks are connected with a metal ring loop and attached to the ring it has a lovely & original silk tassel. Totally Open 15 3/4 (40 cm). Sticks 8 1/4 (21 cm). Silk tassel long 13 (33 cm). 12 5/8 x 3 ½ x 2 (31 x 9.5 x 4.5 cm). One tiny MOP stone is missing. Two sticks has been restored, marked in pictures with red color. The ribbon has been replaced but must be glued to the sticks. The storage box is in poor condition and is only to preserve the integrity of the fan.
