Gorgeous hand painted and artist signed Percy Simpson green and gold covered urn. PERCY SIMPSON, one of the finest ceramic artists working at Coalport in the early 1900's. Simpson has signed at bottom right, just below the image.

The medallion in the center depicts two Birds of Paradise. The double handles sport heavy gold lion's heads. The green is gorgeous and the gold is bright. It measures 9 7/8 tall.

Displays beautifully, but there is a hairline crack to the lid, as shown in the photo. There is a small scratch in the green in the back of the urn- see photo. No other chips, nicks, cracks, hairlines, crazing, or repairs.
