Antique 14k OVER 14 GRAMS Victorian Hand Carved Shell Cameo Yellow Gold

For sale is this exquisite antique carnelian shell cameo pendant, crisply carved by a true artesan. The stunning, delicate Victorian cameo depicts a classical motif of the right facing profile view of a woman with upswept curls and flowers in her hair, which was a common hairstyle in the Victorian Era. Portrait cameos that are carved with a straight nose are typically from the Victorian Era.

The closed back is rare and adds to the substantial 14k gold weight, increasing the value of the piece. It is set in 14 karat yellow gold with a closed back, weighing OVER 14 GRAM S. The frame is intricately detailed with a twisted rope design. The ornate bail is generously sized and will accommodate most chains. The oval cameo is approximately 2-1/8" high and 1-3/8" wide. The carved cameo is a TRUE WORK OF ART. NO CHIPS, NICKS, CRACK on the cameo itself. Condition is excellent pre-owned, with wear/scratches to the back of the piece that could easily be polished. As mentioned above, the carved cameo itself has no dents, scratches, grooves, fractures, or cracks. It is in perfect condition.
