An Antique Natural SHELL CAMEO. Et in a solid silver gilt mount for wear as a brooch or pendant.

The carving is absolutely clever and stunning. The semi-translucent shell appears pure white on the top layer and tan on the under. Subject is a lovely young woman carved in high relief and rendered in especially fine detail. Her hair is elaborately styled.

I believe this is a French piece. Very collectable & extremely wearable!

Size with the bail: 43 x 34 mm = 1¼ x 1¾ inches Size of the cameo without the bail: 35 x 28 mm = 1¼ x 1 inches. Please see the images for condition.
