Antique Georgian Diamond Brides Brooch Sterling Silver Gold Victorian 18th Cent

Antq Georgian 22 Diamond Sterling Silver 9ct Gold Bride's Brooch 18th Century. We are now accepting offers for this lovely antique 18th century, Georgian, bride's brooch with 22 natural old cut mined diamonds set into solid 800 European sterling silver with 9 ct gold sheeting backing silver, and 9 ct gold clasp. Brooch measures 2.75'' (6.985 cm) by 1 1.5 inches (3.81 cm). Center Diamond measures 2-3 mm in diameter, other diamonds diameter vary slightly between 2-3 mm and 1-2 mm diameter. Brooch includes 10 studs with old mine cut diamonds and 12 diamonds, one set in each flower petal and leaf. It was made in the 18th Century in the United Kingdom. It is clean, polished and ready for wearing or wrapping for the holidays.

Brooches of this age and quality are rare. During the Georgian period and for some time thereafter, aristocratic family commissioned Jewelers to custom make Jewelry for their young Brides wedding, beginning with Bride's brooches and also including other custom pieces. Wealthier families commissioned more pieces.
