Antique Victorian English Gilt Hand Painted Miniature Portrait Locket Pendant

A lovely antique English gilt pendant or wall hanging miniature portrait; with ornate articulated frame, its original rounded glass front and wonderful hand painted miniature portrait depicting a young boy of the period. It dates from the mid-1800's and is in very good condition throughout, with retainers missing to the back (still secure) and the portrait has shifted slightly.

It weighs 38.0 grams and measures 4 ¼ x 2 inches overall. The final photo shows it with a US penny (1 cent) coin for scale, which measures 19 mm / ¾ of an inch diameter.
