Antique Victorian Or Early 1900s Orange And Black Hand Carved Pierced Earrings. The information about this item is my personal assessment, please make your own judgements about the vintage of this item.
I did researched on jewelry styles to come to the conclusion that this item is most likely from the Victorian era or early 1900s based on person research and carefully inspecting the earrings. The wooden ball/ bead looks to be hand carved and is approximation 13mm wide. The earrings dangleand are approximately 1.5 inches long. There are tiny black gem stones or glass embedded pieces in the metal decorative pieces on the top and bottom of the wood beads. The intricate chain work is in an anchor mariner style and connects to the earring posts. The connecting post does not appear to be soldered at all and is a single piece. The earring backings appear to be the original and have a basic decorative flower like shape which compliments the carved flower pattern in the wooden beads. The posts have a very slight indentation for the stops of the earring backings. The metal is black and may be a patina. These have not been cleaned (you may clean them if you wish or leave them untouched). There is some tarnish or dirt present on the black gem stones or glass pieces, I was able to scratch away some with a finger nail to ensure it is not an Enamel. There are no makers marks on these earrings which was common in the Victorian era.
