She seems to be suppressing a grin, holding back laughter with a sparkle in her eyes. The portrait resembles Thomas Gainsborough's portraits of Lady Georgia Cavendish, the Duchess of Devonshire during the th Century. Both the painting and the brooch are in good vintage condition, no cracks, chips or defects. It is an estate piece.
