The silver surface is adorned with a fine etched pattern and there is a lovely curvilinear outline, along with four foliage engraved granules placed at each corner. The plain smooth back has the original pin and c-loop connection. A beautiful piece of Scottish history which would add an impressive accessory to the scarf, lapel or wherever you desire to show it off. Natural (16) green malachite stones. 6cm long x 5cm height. The condition of the brooch is very good.
Besides normal surface wear and natural surface patina to the silver the piece presents in excellent Victorian condition. One of the small malachite stones in the centre does bear a bit of damage (seen under magnification) otherwise fantastic.Clasp works well with good tension. Overall, superb for her age!
