A very beautiful, and very unusual Victorian era sterling silver cross-featuring a left facing hand carved shell cameo in the center, I really don't see any wear to the cameo, which is nice. I'm not sure who the character is, but she's probably some kind of a Greek goddess.
The piece is all hand etched, with a horseshoe etched on the reverse. The inside of the cross is stuffed with old paper from what I could tell.. Maybe it's old dry plant material, I'm not sure. It weighs 22 grams of sterling silver. It measures 4 inches long from bail x 2 inches wide-it's a large cross.
