GORGEOUS antique Victorian sterling silver &. 950 silver garnet, spinel and marcasite cross necklace.
This elegant, sparkling necklace is 18 1/4 long and weighs 40.6 grams. It was recently re-strung with the original beads along with some replacement garnet and silver beads as the original necklace was damaged. This necklace features a Victorian. 950 silver garnet and marcasite cross pendant that is nearly 3" long, including the bail, by nearly 2" wide. This lovely cross is prong set with deep red, rose cut, genuine garnets and marcasites. It is in very good condition aside from a few missing marcasites, which really cannot be seen without a loupe and which definitely do not detract. The garnets are in really nice condition. The necklace portion is strung with hand-cut garnets that are 6 mm to 7 mm, smaller round garnets and tiny faceted garnet rondelles. I added tiny Hill Tribe silver and semi-round beads throughout the necklace along with a few faceted black spinel beads. This necklace is finished with two lovely antique floral beads and a sterling silver filigree insert fishhook clasp. It is stunning on the neckline with lots of depth and sparkle. The cross has been professionally tested as. The rest of the silver in this necklace, including the beads and clasp, has been professionally tested as. 925 and nearly pure silver (Hill Tribe). The garnets, spinel and marcasites have been examined and verified by a certified gemologist.This necklace is in very good antique condition, aside from the aforementioned missing marcasites and is ready to wear.
