From a very fine California estate comes this beautiful antique Sevres style jewelry casket box hand painted with a romantic courting scene. It is signed by the artist -looks like Livery- and is extremely well painted with wonderful colors and detail throughout. It has a blue Sevres style mark on the bottom and I believe it dates to the mid to late 1800's. The box is has raised gold decorations on dark blue color background on all sides and it has hand painted roses inside. Fine bronze ormolu mounts with an aged patina. It is octagonal in shade with a slightly domed lid, and measures 6 1/2" across and 2 1/2" high. In very good condition with no crazing, chips, cracks.
