Miniature Painting Landscape Brooch Castle 18th Century Scene Antique Victorian. We offer for sale this unique antique hand painted miniature landscape scene painting/ cameo brooch. It depicts a castle or country estate complete with bridge, a river and a boat. The painting is detailed and well done on reverse glass with canvas backing Both glass and canvas are layered with paint. This is a one of a kind brooch.

The painting is framed in a gold gilded metal and/ or brass frame with a glass front. The canvas is stiff with layers of old varnish and paint which make it strong and stiff. At some point, likely near or after its creation someone made C clasp, pin and hinge hardware on a bar so it could be worn as a brooch. It has a tiny bit of paint loss near top where it appears someone removed a tiny piece of canvas; and a bit of paint crazing. It is lovely and truly unique antique piece.
