Miniature Painting Landscape Brooch Castle 18th Century Scene Antique Victorian. Unique antique hand painted miniature landscape scene painting/ cameo brooch.

Depicts a castle or country estate complete with bridge, a river and a boat. Painting is detailed and well done on reverse glass with canvas backing. Both glass and canvas are layered with paint.

One of a kind brooch. The painting is framed in a gold gilded metal and/ or brass frame with a glass front. The canvas is stiff with layers of old varnish and paint which make it strong and stiff.

At some point, likely near or after its creation someone made C clasp, pin and hinge hardware and mounted them on a bar attached to painting frame / bezel, so it could be worn as a brooch. It has a tiny bit of paint loss near top where it appears someone removed a tiny piece of canvas; and a bit of paint crazing. It is lovely and truly unique antique piece. See photos for full description. In addition to being worn, it could be framed and hung on a wall or in a free standing frame on a shelf or desk.
