Please find a lovely writing slope with a fantastic hand painted mother of pearl inlaid flowers design. This writing slope overall is very usable and a great display object. It has had a little work over the years, mainly it appears to have received a new green felt writing board covering. The hinges are secured to the lower box with small screws, I believe originally these would have been pinned. The hinges are secure and work fine both lifting the box lid and lifting the board to reveal storage.

The lid is missing its locking plate. There is crazing to the lacquer on the lid all over, I have photographed this to demonstrate. It is not instantly noticeable from any distance and without direct light. It is very common for the lacquer to craze and this is no worse than most.

There are a few odd marks which I have tried to show in the pictures, the pen cover has a slight crack in one end. One of the rear corners has suffered slight movement but is still solid and does not affect the structural integrity of the box.

The box does have what looks like the original escutcheon which is often missing. The writing slope measures 11" width, 8" depth and 2" rising to 3.5" height.
