Unusual Victorian Antique Sterling Silver & Coral Hand-Crafted Bird Brooch

Amazing antique Victorian LARGE sterling silver and mediterranean coral bird-themed brooch. This unusual brooch is 3 3/4" long by 2 1/2" wide and weighs 42.9 grams. This hefty, interesting antique brooch/pin has hand-applied detail all around. It is incredibly sturdy and brings to mind a kilt pin worn during the 17th or 18th centuries by a Scottish lord.

I have no information on the history of this piece other than its approximate age and the fact that it is silver, coral and completely hand-crafted. It is finished with an old "C" type clasp.

There appears to be a stamp mark on the back side of the top of this brooch, but I cannot read it. Each section of this brooch has been separately tested as sterling, or near sterling, silver and the coral has been verified by a certified gemologist. The color of the metal is a bronzey-shade of gold-silver. This brooch is in very good antique condition with no damage other than minor age appropriate surface wear.
