Victorian Coral Hand 18k Gold Snake Skull Memento Mori Diamonds Amulet Pendant

Offered here is a rare antiques from circa 1890's early Victorian era 18k yellow gold and red coral/diamonds, Memento-Mori amulet neck pendant. Absolutely unique amulet symbol of eternal life. Featuring hand made red coral hand with gold snake twisted around and drop dandle natural coral human skull with mine cut diamond gemstone eyes. The snake is with engraved skin. The coral hand hung from a gold swing and the loop is jeweled with sparkling mine cut diamonds and black enamel dots.

It is marked for 18 carat gold with C18 mark on the snake head and French eagle mark on the loop. It is excellent preserved with minor traces of wear. Found at an estate sale in Paris.

Not sure of its history other than it came from an estate of a world traveler and antiques collector. Perfect talisman with Gold symbol of lux, the diamond associated with strength, love and health, and the coral protector from the evil eye and bad luck, also the coral protect the wearer against poisoning, evil spells, anxiety and insomnia.
