The frame is ribbed, as well as the bale. This was done by hand, not by machine. The tiny discoloration in the bale is simply a smudge. Sometimes my camera takes photos that can be (too) specific. This may have been an image (painting) of a daughter made for her mother. This piece is hand painted and as a piece of art, well, isn't that what jewelry is. I love to wear interesting pieces of jewelry. They become some great conversation pieces. And discovering and finding them is always fun.
