Vtg. Signed Hand Hooked Folk Art Rug/Tapestry

Up for sale is a beautiful hand hooked folk art rug. The rug measures 36 x 55 and is hooked on burlap cloth. The rug strips are a 2-3 cut and most of them are wool strips. There is a lot of detail in this rug, so some strips may be recycled fabric. It is signed: LMT 94.

I don't know if the owner hooked the rug or it was a commissioned piece. I do rug hooking and this is a beautiful piece. The binding on the back is a cotton twill tape.

The auctioneer said this was a 1940s piece, but the "94" is puzzling. The fabrics and use of burlap really indicate it is 1940s. This is a heavy rug, appears to be one of a kind, and not returnable.
